Emergency services respond to house fire in Shrewsbury

Fire extinguished in less than an hour with man receiving medical care

Emergency services were called to a house fire in Shrewsbury during the early hours of this morning, Friday.

The fire, reported just after 5am, was in a bedroom of a semi-detached two-storey house on Field Crescent.

Two fire appliances from Shrewsbury attended the scene with crews using breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, and a covering jet to tackle the flames.

One man received medical attention from the ambulance service while police were also present at the incident.

The cause of the fire has not been confirmed.
