Six men have been convicted after a woman was shot in the pelvis and left with life-changing injuries in Dudley.
A woman in her 20s was hit by a bullet which went through her front door in July last year, after five shots were fired from a car.
Investigations found that the car, a grey Audi, had been stolen the day before the shooting.
Officers went on to arrest six men, including:
- 35-year-old Kile Straker, of Armstrong Drive, Wolverhampton;
- 23-year-old Ethan Colbourne, of Moat Road, Tipton;
- 27-year-old Kieron Atkins, of Rydding Lane, West Bromwich;
- 24-year-old Stephen Simms, of Alexandra Road;
- 28-year-old Iranveer Gill, of Bridgnorth Road, Shipley;
- 25-year-old Kye Everitt, of Daley Road, Wolverhampton.
Straker and Colbourne have been convicted of theft of a motor vehicle, attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Atkins has been convicted of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Gill, Everitt and Simms have been convicted of theft of a motor vehicle.
Everitt has already been sentenced to 12 months in prison.
The rest are due to be sentenced on 26th March.
Det Sgt Lucy Mooney, from West Midlands Police, said: “This investigation involved hours of reviewing CCTV footage to build up a picture of the people and cars involved.
“We discovered that previous owner of the stolen Audi was Straker. He kept the second key for the car and when he needed it, he arranged for it to be stolen.
“The group then used the car as part of the planned shooting. Five bullets were fired at the victim’s home – and one of those struck the woman in the pelvis. She now has life-changing injuries.
“This was a terrifying incident and hope the men spend many years behind bars.”
