A man's been jailed for a year after officers found a haul of drugs at his property in Stafford.

Officers caried out a visit at a property off Barnes Road earlier this month about an unrelated matter.

When they entered, they found cocaine of a bedside table, over 120 tablets, drug paraphernalia and two mobile phones with drug-related messages on.

Malcolm David Arnold, 52, of Highfields, pleaded guilty to:

  • two counts of possession of class A drugs, cocaine and magic mushrooms
  • possession of class B drugs, monkey dust
  • supply of class B drugs, monkey dust
  • and possession of class C drugs, tramadol and pregabalin.

He was already the subject of a suspended sentence for similar offences when officers paid him a visit.

One of the officers who visited Arnold's property, PC Nathan Hancock, said: “When Arnold invited us into his property, there were drugs clearly in the premises that we were able to see and seize.

“I am pleased he admitted his offending in court and was handed a jail term for his clear involvement in drug supply in Stafford.”
