Arrest after reports of man with knife in Wolverhampton

Police have arrested a man in Wolverhampton city centre after reports of a man seen with a knife yesterday morning.

Officers were called to Queen Street shortly before 7.30am, where they located a man matching the description given by members of the public. A knife was also recovered.

The 49 year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife or blade and brought into police custody.

Tackling issues around violent crime and carrying weapons is a priority across Wolverhampton and police say they're working hard to identify anyone involved as part of Operation Redfox.
