Appeal after serious collision on A442
It happened yesterday
Police are appealing for witnesses, after a serious single‑vehicle collision on the A442 in Oldington yesterday (Tuesday 30 June).
At around 10.50pm, officers on patrol located a blue Ford Fiesta, which had left the carriageway and come to rest in a field nearby.
A 14 year‑old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Three other people, a 14 year‑old boy, an 18 year‑old man and another child were also taken to hospital for treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be life‑threatening.
A 20 year‑old man has been arrested, on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the collision, witnessed the incident, or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time.
