Plans have been submitted to build 12 homes in a village near Bridgnorth.

TC Homes Ltd is behind the proposed development (reference 26/03277/FUL) on land to the north of St Augustine Way in Claverley.

Documents submitted to Shropshire Council state that four of the 12 homes will be affordable bungalows.

Scott Drummond, of TC Homes, said that during pre-application advice, planning officers at Shropshire Council said, in the absence of the local authority being unable to demonstrate a five-year housing land supply, a mixed tenure development can be supported on the site.

“The officer further confirmed that the site was earmarked for a future phase of affordable development following the grant of planning permission for 12 affordable dwellings on the immediately adjacent site, which was constructed in 2024,” said Mr Drummond.

“The pre-application response also confirmed that there are no highway objections in principle to the proposed development, that the proposals are considered to reflect the previous stage of development and are in keeping with the character of the area, and that there are no archaeological concerns.

“The council’s landscape consultant confirmed that the development has the potential to assimilate into the settlement edge of Claverley subject to an appropriate layout and boundary treatment, and that the Shropshire Hills National Landscape will be unaffected by the proposed development.”
