Forest Green boss Robbie Savage given permission to speak to another club

Forest Green boss Robbie Savage has been given permission to speak with another club, reported to be Sky Bet League One side Peterborough.
Savage will not be in Forest Green’s dugout for Tuesday night’s (29 September) home National League game against Wealdstone.
Forest Green’s goalkeeping coach Jonathan Gould told a press conference: “He’s been given permission by the club to speak to another football club, and then we’ve got to get on with our jobs.”
Gould added: “Robbie won’t be with us tomorrow. There’s myself, Jan (Klukowski) and Josh (Bowen). We’ve obviously been working together now for five months through pre-season and we know each other very well, and we will bring all our strengths to the table for the team.
“The lads obviously are aware of it, but it’s always their responsibility to go and perform at the New Lawn and that’s all we’re going to impress on them.”
Savage, 51, led Forest Green to the play-offs last season after being appointed in July 2025, while Peterborough sacked Luke Williams earlier this month and sit second bottom in the table after winning only one of their first eight league matches.
