A man from Peterborough has been jailed for over three years after making violent threats towards his ex-partner and breaching a non-molestation order.

Marius Siuipys, 49, of Lincoln Road, New England, Peterborough, was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court to three years and three months in prison for stalking his ex-partner.

The court heard Siuipys contacted the woman by phone, went to her home, and barged into her bedroom before attempting to punch her.

The victim managed to flee to safety but continued to receive threatening messages from Siuipys via Facebook messenger, including photos.

Siuipys also showed up at her new partner’s home, continuing his pattern of harassment.

Detective Constable Roberto Scialla Cooper, who investigated the case, said Siuipys subjected the victim to a "terrifying ordeal," leading her to fear for her life.

“The victim’s courage in reporting the incidents has been crucial in bringing justice and securing her safety," DC Scialla Cooper said.

Victims of abuse are urged to come forward, with the police committed to supporting them and holding offenders accountable.
