Motorcyclist dies after hitting lamppost in Peterborough

Officers are appealing for witnesses

A motorcyclist has died after striking a lamppost in Peterborough.

Officers say the rider, a 50-year-old man from Market Deeping, died at the scene of the collision on Friday (3rd April).

He was travelling north west from the A605 on Flaxley Road at about 2.40pm on a red Triumph Daytona.

Officers are now appealing for anyone who saw the collision.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact the police online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Poplar or incident 280 of 3 April.
