A 21-year-old man from Peterborough has been banned from driving following a high-speed pursuit through residential areas.

Thomas Toth led police on a chase while driving a black Audi A3 in Eastgate on 8th May, after officers discovered the car was uninsured.

When police signalled for him to stop, Toth accelerated, exceeding speed limits, ignoring traffic signals, and driving against road directions.

The pursuit ended in Ling Garth, Dogsthorpe, where Toth attempted to flee on foot but was quickly arrested.

Toth, of Meadow Grove, Dogsthorpe, Peterborough, admitted charges of dangerous driving, driving without insurance, and driving without a licence.

On 29th June at Peterborough Magistrates' Court, he received a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for a year, along with an 18-month driving ban.

PC Chris Euerby commented on Toth's reckless driving, emphasizing the risk posed to others: “He narrowly missed numerous collisions as other innocent motorists were forced to take evasive action."
