Information needed after serious crash near Empingham involving motorcycle and van
Detectives seek witnesses as investigation progresses
Detectives are appealing for information after a serious crash occurred on Stamford Road, near Empingham, on the evening of 20th February.
The collision involved a black Suzuki motorcycle and a white van.
Police were notified at 5.54pm and officers attended the scene, joined by the East Midlands Ambulance Service.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital where he remains with serious injuries.
The van driver, 54, did not suffer any injuries and was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He has been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are actively working to uncover the details surrounding the crash.
They are requesting any witnesses to come forward and provide information to assist the investigation.
Detective Constable Madeleine Hayes said: “A man is in hospital with serious injuries. Our investigation remains ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw either of the vehicles in the area prior to the collision to make contact.
“Please think back to if you were in the area of Stamford Road yesterday evening and any information you might have which could help our enquiries. If you have any dashcam footage from the area, we also ask that you get in touch.”
