A drink driver who crashed into two cars in a Peterborough street while almost twice the legal limit has been banned from driving for more than a year.

Igoris Fromicius struck the vehicles on Fulbridge Road earlier this month. He failed a roadside breath test and then gave a sample of 65, which was nearly double the legal alcohol limit of 35.

The 45 year old, of Peveril Road, Millfield, admitted drink driving and received a ban of 18 months at Peterborough Magistrates Court last Wednesday. Fromicius was also fined £120.

PC Scott Giles, who investigated, said: “Getting behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated is extremely reckless and, while fortunately no one was injured in these collisions, two cars were damaged."

“I would urge anyone planning to have a drink to arrange an alternative mode of transport.”
