Two drug dealers, who led Cambridgeshire Police officers on a high-speed pursuit through Ramsey, have been jailed for a total of more than 10 years between them.
The chase began at midday on 20 November 2025, when Huntingdon Neighbourhood Team spotted a black BMW they thought was using false number plates.
Stanley Rose, 21 and of Clayway in Ely was driving the car, and sped away towards Warboys at speeds of up to 80 miles an hour.
Once stopped, he and passenger Isiah Thurston, 25 and of School Lane in Manea, ran away.
A bag that one of them had thrown over a gate was found to contain cannabis and cocaine with an estimated value of more than £7,000.
Mobile phones, cash, a knife and weighing scales were found in the driver's door.
At Cambridge Crown Court on Friday 13 February, Rose pleaded guilty to to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without a licence and insurance, fraudulently using a registration mark, being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis, and possession of a bladed article.
He was also disqualified from driving for four years and 10 months, and was sentenced to a total of six years and two months in prison.
Thurston pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and cannabis, and being concerned in the supply of both drugs.
He was sentenced to four years and one month behind bars.
Detective Constable Clair Godfrey, who investigated, said: “Rose and Thurston showed no regard for the safety of the public or the law.
"Their actions behind the wheel and their clear involvement in drug supply posed a significant risk to our communities.
"Thanks to the quick actions of our neighbourhood officers, their operation was stopped, and both men are now behind bars for a long time.”
