Woman hospitalised after crash on A381 near Kingsbridge

A 70-year-old woman, who was a passenger, is in a stable condition at Derriford Hospital

A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash near Kingsbridge.

It happened on the A381 at Elston Cross, Churchstow, just after eleven o'clock on Friday morning (19/12), when a silver Nissan Note and a green Ford Transit van collided.

A 70-year-old woman from Kingsbridge, who was a passenger in the Nissan, is in a stable condition at Derriford Hospital.

Police say the Nissan driver, a local man in his 70s, and two people in the van also sustained minor injuries.

Local response officers attended the scene along with the ambulance service.

The road was closed until around 7pm for an investigation of the scene and for the vehicles to be recovered.

Officers are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

They would also like to hear from anyone with relevant dashcam footage.
