Essential cliff stabilisation works at Marine Parade in Shaldon have begun, and are scheduled to last around eight weeks.

The road is now closed to motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists to ensure the safety of both the public and the workforce.

Vehicles are being diverted along signed routes during the closure.

However, due to geographical constraints, there is no alternative pedestrian route.

A free shuttle bus service will be operational between The Ness Car Park and The Strand. Running every 20 minutes, this service is available daily from 9am to 11pm and is fully accessible, providing space for wheelchairs and pushchairs.

Local events will continue as planned, with safety checks determining if temporary access to the road can be granted during these occasions.
