A 16-year-old boy from Didcot, Oxfordshire, is accused of supporting so-called Islamic State and stockpiling weapons, explosives, and a suicide vest at his family home.

The court heard the teenager allegedly shared IS propaganda, including footage of terrorist attacks in Paris, battlefield explosions, and killings.

Counter terrorism police discovered 17 knives, including machetes, swords, a knuckleduster, and homemade explosives in his bedroom during a raid on 12th March.

He is facing seven terrorism charges, including possession of a suicide bomb vest.

Additionally, he has been charged with refusing police access to his phone while in custody.

Appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, he was remanded into custody in a secure youth accommodation by Chief Magistrate Paul Goldspring.

The boy, through his lawyer, indicated not guilty pleas to all eight charges.

The charges include allegations of him sending IS-related videos and possessing an IS magazine, Inspire 1, a document titled 100 Deadly Skills, weapons, and improvised explosive devices.

An investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing South East led to the charges, which involve disseminating terrorist publications, possessing articles for terrorism, and failing to comply with investigatory requests under RIPA 2000.

The teenager is scheduled for a further hearing at the Old Bailey on 17th April.
