The RAF Tactical Medical Wing (TMW) has showcased its medical capabilities at a special event held at RAF Brize Norton.

Known as the operational forefront of the Air Medical Force, TMW presented its expertise, advanced equipment, and readiness that support Defence medical operations worldwide during the Capability Demonstration Day.

The event included senior military leaders, partners, and stakeholders who witnessed dynamic demonstrations supported by II Squadron RAF Regiment.

Demonstrations illustrated how the Force provides life-saving care from the initial injury point through to strategic Aeromedical Evacuation back to the UK.

Wing Commander Rosie Barrow, Officer Commanding Tactical Medical Wing, highlighted the significance of the Wing’s role in Defence.

"This event showcased the exceptional people, specialist expertise and operational capability that make TMW and the Air Medical Force such a vital part of Defence," Barrow said.

The demonstrations covered capabilities along the Operational Patient Care Pathway, revealing how the Air Medical Force supports Defence in projecting medical care wherever required.

Group Captain Becky Woolley, Medical Force Commander, also underscored the essential nature of the medical force.

"In an increasingly uncertain world, the need for highly trained, rapidly deployable medical teams has never been greater," Woolley said.

The event reinforced the Medical Force's significance at the core of Defence medical capability, ready to support operations globally, including humanitarian and evacuation missions.
