Oxford man sentenced to prison for supplying crack cocaine
Craig Ballantyne jailed after police witnessed drug deal in Frys Hill Park
Craig Ballantyne, a 38-year-old from Oxford, has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison following a drug supply investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Ballantyne appeared at Oxford Crown Court and pleaded guilty to possessing crack cocaine with intent to supply.
His sentencing occurred on 25th June, following an earlier court appearance on 29th May where he admitted to the charge.
The investigation ensued after plain clothed officers stopped Ballantyne in Frys Hill Park, Oxford on 28th April, subsequent to witnessing a drug transaction.
Ballantyne was in possession of crack cocaine, which was verified through testing.
PC Daniel Cook, the investigating officer, highlighted the circumstances of the case:
“Craig Ballantyne showed a blatant disregard for the law, returning to criminality in the form of Class A drug supply just five days after being released from prison.
His swift arrest and conviction demonstrate our continued commitment to tackling drug-related crime and protecting our communities from those who repeatedly choose to offend.”
