Man charged over Oxford arson attacks
The incidents happened in the early hours of Thursday 13 March
Thames Valley Police say they have charged a man in connection with a series of arson attacks in Oxford.
Following an investigation a man has been charged in connection with the incidents in the city centre which happened in the early hours of Thursday morning (13 March).
Adam McVey, aged 43, of no fixed abode, was charged with arson with intent to endanger life and six further charges of arson.
Several businesses were targeted in New Inn Hall Street, Queen Street and Cornmarket Street between 3.30am and 4am on Thursday.
Businesses that suffered fires were Popeyes, Pret A Manger, Bravissimo, Scribbler and Fat Face.
Policed say McVey remains in custody and will appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today (14 March).
