£10 million has been secured to safeguard the London Road underpass in Bicester, according to a Liberal Democrat politician.

Calum Miller made the claim in a social media post on 20th October.

He said Liberal Democrat-led Oxfordshire County Council had provided the money to secure the underpass and keep the town connected.

Miller said the funding followed years of uncertainty.

He credited local businesses, campaigners and councillors for their work on the issue.

He said he is proud to have worked alongside them.

Miller said: 'The funding is secured. Now I'll keep pressing the Government and East West Rail to get it built and deliver on this historic agreement.'
