Police investigating the theft of gold jewellery from St Fagans National Museum of History in Cardiff have charged two men from Northampton.

What's been described as 'irreplaceable items' were taken during a burglary early on Monday morning (October 6).

Gavin and Darren Burnett - who are 43 and 50 - are due in court today (October 8).

Both men were also charged in connection to incidents between July 28 and August 14 when burglaries took place at several properties in Northampton and a number of cars were stolen.

Gavin Burnett is also charged with two counts of threatening behaviour and one count of making threats to kill in connection with threats made against three Northamptonshire Police officers.
