Teenage girl sexually assaulted on Northampton canal path

Northamptonshire Police are seeking information after a serious sexual assault involving a 17-year-old girl on a canal path in Northampton.

The incident occurred between 1am and 4am on Sunday (26 April), near Trenery Way by the River Nene.

Detectives from Northamptonshire Police's specialist SOLAR Team have launched an investigation.

They urge anyone who saw the incident or has relevant information to contact them at 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously at 0800 555111, quoting incident number 26000239036.

Local police will maintain a visible presence to reassure the community, and officers are available to assist anyone with concerns.
