A teenager has been arrested as investigations continue into the murder of a 20 year old in Northampton.

Mason Miller died after being stabbed during a confrontation at Briar Hill Skate Park in Ringway around 3.30pm on 18th February.

A 17-year-old boy also suffered life-threatening injuries during the same incident.

Northamptonshire Police say a 17 year old boy has now been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder, carrying an offensive weapon, and manslaughter. He is being held in custody.

Detectives have also released CCTV footage of two individuals they wish to talk to in relation to Mason's murder and the attempted murder of the 17-year-old.

Authorities are calling for anyone driving in the areas of Kings Heath, Duston, Upton, and Briar Hill in Northampton from 2pm to 4pm on 18th February to provide dash-cam footage.

They are also asking residents and businesses with CCTV or doorbell footage capturing two males on electric motorcycles during the specified timeframe to contact them.

Detective Inspector Matt Bly from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) Major Crime team, leading the inquiry, said, “Mason’s death has left his family with unanswered questions, and they deserve to know what has happened to their loved one.

“We know that the key to this investigation lies within the local community, and it is possible that some people have captured those responsible for the stabbings on CCTV or dash-cam footage and may not realise that they have vital information which could help us.

“However small or insignificant you believe the information is, if you have not already done so, please get in touch as a matter of urgency. Any little detail may help us piece together what happened both before and after the incident at the skate park.”
