Convicted child sex abuser receives 27-year extended sentence in Northampton
Jack Moore found guilty of multiple offences against a child
Jack Moore, a 36-year-old man from Moulton, has been sentenced to a 27-year extended term after his conviction for sexually abusing a child over a two-year period.
Moore's crimes were exposed after a brave disclosure to Northamptonshire Police in January 2023 by the young victim.
A detailed investigation by the Child Abuse Investigation Unit revealed Moore's repeated acts of rape, sexual assault, and exploitation, including forcing the child to watch pornography.
He faced trial at Northampton Crown Court and was found guilty on 11th May of all ten charges, including sexual activity with a child, rape, assault, attempted rape, and exploitation.
On 9th October, Moore returned to court to receive an extended sentence of 22 years in prison, followed by five years on licence, targeting offenders recognised as highly dangerous.
Additionally, Moore is subject to a lifelong Sex Offenders’ Register listing and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Nicky Webb highlighted the victim’s courage and the significance of securing justice against Moore.
"The bravery shown by this young girl is remarkable," DC Webb said, expressing hope that the conviction sends a message about the seriousness with which such cases are handled.
Detective Inspector Julie Allington of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit added: “This has been a challenging and complex investigation spanning several years, requiring significant persistence, professionalism, and dedication throughout.
“This has been very much a team effort involving various departments across the Force led by DC Nicky Webb and Police Staff Investigator Lucy Fraser-Allen, who both demonstrated outstanding resilience, commitment and determination in seeing the case through to its conclusion to achieve the best possible outcome for the girl.”
