GCSE results day brings top grades for Rothwell students
Months of revision and years of hard work have paid off for students at Montsaye Academy

Thousands of students across the county gathered at schools this morning to collect their GCSE results, with many now preparing to move on to sixth form, college courses, apprenticeships and training opportunities.
Year 11 pupils at Montsaye Academy in Rothwell were among those celebrating after collecting their GCSE results.
The school said some of its highest-performing students received top grades.
Among those receiving strong results were Lucas, Thomas, Rehan, Tyler and Milly, who all achieved a number of high scores across their subjects.
Rehan achieved five grade 9s and three grade 7s. Reflecting on his results, he praised the support he received from staff throughout his time at the academy.
"The effort I put into my results isn't just mine alone. It is the work of every teacher at Montsaye Academy who have wholeheartedly supported me on my journey, for whom I don't have enough words to thank."
Milly, who received three grade 9s, four grade 8s and two grade 7s, said: "I am so happy. It has made all my hard work over the past two years worth it."
Tyler was another student celebrating after collecting his grades. He said: "I'm really proud of the results I got. I am very grateful for the support that I have had, which has got me here."
Many students will continue their studies at the school's sixth form in September, hoping to build on the success of last year's A-level students, who progressed to Russell Group universities and a range of other destinations.
Gopal Baria, interim principal at Montsaye Academy, said the results reflected the hard work and determination shown by students throughout their time at the school.
"Today is a day of celebration for our Year 11 students, whose GCSE results reflect the commitment, perseverance and ambition they have shown throughout their time at the academy.
"As a school, we have been on a significant journey of improvement over recent years, and these results provide further evidence of the positive impact of the changes we have made and the direction in which the academy is moving.''
