A man has been banned from parts of Kettering town centre after causing repeated disruption through anti-social behaviour, including street drinking, littering, and disorderly conduct.

Leon McKenna, 54, of Carey Street, Kettering, was issued with a five-year criminal behaviour order (CBO) following persistent offending that sparked complaints from the public and local businesses.

Efforts were initially made to address McKenna’s offending through warnings and support programs.

A community protection warning was issued in May 2025, followed by a community protection notice in August 2025 when the warning was breached.

Despite these measures, McKenna continued to defy conditions, leading to mounting complaints from residents and businesses about the impact of his actions on the area’s safety and economy.

Neighbourhood policing officers successfully secured the criminal behaviour order against him, setting strict conditions and exclusion zones within the town centre, including Dryland Street, Market Street, High Street, and Gold Street.
