Network fault leaves 1,657 properties without electricity before affecting school operations
Guilsborough Academy in Northamptonshire was closed yesterday, leaving around 1,200 pupils off school after a power cut affected 1,657 properties in the village and surrounding areas.
The school informed parents at approximately 7.30am on Monday, 7th September, stating that lessons would proceed on Microsoft Teams due to the outage.
The power disruption, originating from a network vault fault on Sunday afternoon, impacted many homes and businesses around Guilsborough.
The National Grid reported that power was fully restored to affected properties by 11.35pm on Sunday night.
According to their spokesperson, any remaining power issues are now likely related to individual property connections rather than the network itself.
