The family of a man who died in a road collision on the A45 has penned a heartfelt tribute to him.

Steven Leadbetter, a 65-year-old from Wellingborough, tragically lost his life on 22nd February while riding his black Triumph motorcycle on the westbound carriageway between Great Doddington and Earls Barton.

Describing Leadbetter as "larger than life," his family recalled his heart "big enough for everyone to share."

Known fondly as 'Splodge,' he was cherished as a partner, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle.

His passion for motorcycling was evident as a member of the Triumph Owners’ Motorcycle Club, where he was well-liked.

The tribute expressed, “Steve is going to be missed immensely by so many, but we know he died doing what he loved the most.

We would also like to thank all at the scene for their assistance and the emergency services.”

Officers from the Northamptonshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit continue to request information regarding the incident.
