Evacuation at Northampton warehouse after suspicious package found

A warehouse in Northampton and surrounding areas have been evacuated after the discovery of a suspicious package, police have said.

The Northamptonshire force said it was called to the DHL site on Gowerton Road on Northampton's Brackmills Estate at about 07:45am this morning (8 April).

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service has also been in attendance and a cordon has been put in place at the scene.

Police confirmed specialist officers were "assessing the situation" and advised the public to avoid the area while inquires continued.
