A man charged with murder after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Northampton has appeared in court.
Fuad Mohamud, 21, spoke only to confirm his name as he appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Wednesday (15 July) charged with the murder of Khadeem Parris, from Motherwell in Scotland.
Khadeem died as a result of a stab wound following an incident at an address in Adnitt Road in Abington, on July 7, Northamptonshire Police said.
Mohamud, of Thorn Hill Walk, Briar Hill, was told by Judge Adrienne Lucking KC that he would next face the court in August to enter a plea.
The judge said: “Your trial is going to take place on January 4. The position is that your barrister is going to be available to represent you on that date.
“You will be back here on August 17 when you will be asked to enter a plea.
“In the meantime, you will remain in custody.”
A week on from Khadeem’s death, Northamptonshire Police said officers have been completing door-to-door inquiries and speaking to residents and potential witnesses who may have information or camera footage that can help the investigation.
Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector Ryan Catling, said on Wednesday: “Members of Khadeem’s family visited Adnitt Road yesterday and laid flowers in his memory.
“They continue to be supported by specialist officers and our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
“They are grateful for the support and condolences extended by the local community and ask that their privacy continues to be respected as they grieve for their loss.”
