Police are appealing for witnesses after two serious collisions on the A14 eastbound carriageway left one man with life-threatening injuries.

The first incident occurred at about 5.20am between junctions 1 and 2, involving two HGV lorries.

Around ten minutes later, at 5.30am, a separate collision happened about half a mile further down the road. A flatbed white Iveco Daily was involved in a collision with a blue Volvo HGV lorry.

The driver of the Iveco, a man in his 30s, was taken to University Hospital Coventry with serious, life-threatening injuries.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who may have dash-cam footage of either collision to come forward.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police at the earliest opportunity.
