Police are investigating an assault in York in which a man in his 60s was kicked and punched by another man.

It happened at around 9.30am on 22 July on St Andrew Gate, St Andrews Place, York.

The suspect is described as being a white man, around 5ft 6ins tall, aged between 50 and 60 with grey cropped hair.

He had a Tyneside accent and was wearing a black polo shirt with a logo.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is encouraged to contact North Yorkshire Police.
