Police seek dashcam footage following 91-year-old driver's death
Witnesses and relevant dashcam footage are being sought by police after a fatal car crash near Kirkbymoorside in Ryedale.
The incident occurred at approximately 5pm on Tuesday, 29th September 2026, between Little Edstone and Marton.
The accident involved a grey Volvo XC60, which veered into a shallow ditch beside the road.
Regrettably, the 91-year-old driver passed away at the scene despite paramedics' efforts.
The police closed the road for several hours for examination and vehicle recovery, reopening it just before 10pm.
Initial investigations suggest a medical episode might have led to the collision.
The authorities are offering support to the man's family during this difficult time.
