Three arrested after Tang Hall shooting

It's believed to be a targeted incident with no wider risk to the public

Three people have been arrested following a reported shooting in Tang Hall.

Officers say a man shot at a parked vehicle on Saturday night (7 March 2026) outside an address on Starkey Crescent.

There were no reported injuries.

It's believed to be a targeted incident with no wider risk to the public.

A North Yorkshire police spokesperson said "Extensive searches have been carried out over the past few days to locate the suspect and anyone connected to the incident.

"These searches, focused predominantly in and around York, have included the deployment of our specialist armed firearms officers."

The arrests

Those arrested include:

  • A 34‑year‑old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm and criminal damage
  • A 32‑year‑old man on suspicion of possession of a firearm
  • A 29‑year‑old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender

Investigations continue

Detectives are continuing to investigate and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
