Second arrest after 'irritant' thrown at rough sleepers in Scarborough
A 41-year-old man from Leeds has now been arrested
A second person has been arrested after an irritant was reportedly thrown at a man and a woman who were sleeping rough in Scarborough.
Officers say the attack happened at around 2.30am on Wednesday (15 July) in the Ramshill Road area.
The pair were taken to hospital with facial injuries.
They're currently recovering from the attack and have no lasting injuries, police say.
Arrests
A 41-year-old man from Leeds was arrested on 16 July and remains in custody at the time of writing.
A 34-year-old woman arrested yesterday (15 July) has been released on conditional police bail as investigations continue.
Officers believe it was a targeted attack, and not a random assault on rough sleepers.
