A man has died following a fire in a block of flats in Heworth, York.
Emergency services were called out to St John's Walk at around 1pm today (29th January).
A man was found unconscious by firefighters.
He died in an ambulance on the way to hospital.
A police and fire investigation has been launched into the incident.
People in the area should expect an increased police presence as a cordon remains in place.
