A night of fundraising and entertainment in Harrogate has seen more than £212,000 raised for Martin House Children's Hospice. It came as part of the charity's annual Glitter Ball at Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate.

The celebrity-packed event welcomed guests including celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott and Emmerdale favourites Jeff Hordley, Zoe Henry and Mark Charnock, all joining nearly 600 attendees for an evening of fine dining, dancing and fundraising.

Hosted by TV presenter, Duncan Wood, the celebration featured both live and online auctions, with bids for prizes raising the funds.

Clair Holdsworth, chief executive of Martin House, said:

“It was a fantastic night – every year is bigger and better, and so many people told us this was the best Glitter Ball yet. We cannot thank our supporters and sponsors enough for their generosity.”

Among the exclusive prizes on offer were a round of golf with Sir Gareth Southgate, and a private dining experience with Ainsley Harriott, with auction bids on the night and online topping £60,000 alone."

Contributions were also made from KPP Architects, Ello Group and Berry's Jewellers.

With another record-breaking total raised, Martin House says planning is already underway to make next year’s Glitter Ball even bigger and brighter.
