Four charged following Rochdale v York City match

There were two reported pitch invasions

Four men have been charged following an incident at the end of the Rochdale AFC v York City match on Saturday 25 April.

It follows two pitch invasions during the game.

Those charged include:

  • Kiean Sultan, 18, of Thirlmere Drive, Middleton charged with pitch encroachment, and Section 4 of the Public Order Act;
  • Aaron Dawson, 31, of Smithies Street, Heywood, charged with two counts of Section 4B of the Public Order Act;
  • Sam Manicolo, 18, of Hollins Drive, Middleton, charged with pitch encroachment;
  • Thomas Coleman, 23, of Blenheim Street, Rochdale charged with pitch encroachment.

All four have been bailed and are due back in court on 18 August 2026.

Another man was arrested and de-arrested on the day of the incident.
