Explosive experts called out to help with Langdale moor fire
There are munitions in the area due to the old army base, and fire crews are being helped by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team

North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have said the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team are helping them as they continue to tackle the blaze on Langdale Moor.
Explosive experts have been called in due to the fire being on an old army range, which has munitions in the area.
A number of fire crews and 15 appliances remain on the moor as the fire which has been going since Monday evening continues.
The fire service has thanked farmers and local businesses who have been helping them at the scene.
North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have said:
"We have precautions in place for our crews at the scene, but people may hear explosions. Explosive Ordnance Disposal are aware and are attending.
"Please avoid the area and if you’re nearby keep your doors and windows closed."
At the moment no cause for the fire has been established.
