Arrest after cyclist left with slash wounds in York
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm
A man has been arrested after a cyclist was left with slash wounds from a carpentry-type knife in York.
Emergency services were called to Museum Street just after 8pm on 23 July.
The victim, a man in his 50s from the Leeds area, was taken to hospital with head, face and hand injuries.
He's since been discharged after receiving treatment.
A 37-year-old man is now being questioned on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The nearby area, including Museum Gardens, was cordoned off as investigations were ongoing.
The knife was also recovered by officers.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to call 101 quoting reference NYP-23072026-0563.
