A motorcyclist tragically died following a crash on Marine Drive in Llandudno last night.
The incident, which took place at around 10:31pm, involved a black motorcycle about one mile from the Toll House towards the Great Orme summit.
As a result of the collision, the male motorcyclist entered the sea below the Great Orme.
Emergency services, including HM Coastguard and the RNLI, mounted a multi-agency response and managed to recover the casualty from the water.
He was airlifted by Coastguard helicopter to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, but sadly, despite the best efforts of rescuers, he was pronounced deceased.
His next of kin have been informed, and the coroner has been notified.
Sergeant Alun Jones from the Roads Policing Unit is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
“We are urging anybody who may have witnessed the collision, or anyone who was travelling or walking along Marine Drive on the evening of Thursday 29th October, to contact us," he said.
He particularly encourages those who were moving from the Toll House towards the Great Orme summit between 10:00pm and 10:30pm and may have dashcam footage to reach out, as it could assist with their investigation.
Anyone with information is urged to contact North Wales Police via webchat on their website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 26000888717.
