West Norfolk Council invites public feedback on Council Tax support scheme
Proposed scheme continues full support for eligible low-income earners
The Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk is seeking public opinion on its proposed Council Tax Support Scheme for 2027/28, aimed at assisting working-age individuals with low incomes.
The consultation, running from 27th July to 7th September, invites comments on the scheme that continues to offer up to 100% support for eligible residents.
Cllr Chris Morley, Cabinet Member for Finance, emphasised the importance of public involvement, saying: “Every household in West Norfolk pays Council Tax so it is right that they also have the opportunity to comment on this scheme.”
Despite financial challenges, the council aims to maintain the existing support level, ensuring considerable assistance for those in need.
Annual consultation on the scheme is mandatory, even if no changes are proposed to the support level.
The council has assured that the survey is accessible to everyone, whether online or at King's Court reception and local libraries.
