Three charged following retail theft incident in Dereham

Three individuals are due to appear in court today following a retail theft incident in Dereham earlier this week.

Police were called to a shop in the town at around 3pm on Tuesday 31 March 2026, where two women and a man were arrested. All three suspects were taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Charges Filed

The individuals have since been charged with multiple offences:

Patrycja Katazyna Pelechacz, 31, of Foleshill Road, Coventry, has been charged with aiding and abetting retail theft.

Roji-ioana Iakab, 30, of Nelson Street, Bedford, faces one count of theft in Dereham, along with five additional counts of theft across Milton Keynes, Devon, Somerset and Lanarkshire.

Nicolae Caldara, 32, of Foleshill Road, Coventry, has been charged with one count of theft in Dereham, five further counts of theft in Milton Keynes, Devon, Somerset and Lanarkshire, and one count of driving without insurance in Dereham.

Court Appearance

All three defendants have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear before Norwich Magistrates’ Court on 2 April 2026.

The charges relate to incidents across multiple locations, indicating a broader investigation into alleged retail theft activity. Proceedings are now underway as the case moves through the courts.
