A row over noise coming from a city centre pub has ended after City Hall dropped enforcement action against the venue.

Last Pub Standing had been issued with an abatement notice by Norwich City Council following complaints three years ago.

The owners of the pub had appealed against the notice being issued, which would have required the venue to correct or mitigate the issues at the site.

The row was due to culminate in a court hearing this week.

But ahead of the hearing, Norwich City Council withdrew the abatement notice and the Last Pub Standing owners dropped the appeal.

The noise complaints forced the pub to shut for several days in November 2023 to allow for the venue to introduce a number of measures to reduce the noise produced from the garden.

Last Pub Standing frequently hosts music events both inside the pub and also in its garden area at the rear, which is particularly popular in the spring and summer months.

Norwich City Council and Last Pub Standing have been approached for comment.
