Nine fire engines have been sent to a house fire in Ickburgh, Norfolk, this morning (30 December).

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Thetford, Methwold, Watton, King’s Lynn, East Harling, Fakenham, Hethersett and Diss were present at the scene.

Support is being provided by water carriers from Fakenham and Hethersett, along with the service’s control unit from Wymondham.

People living near the blaze have been advised to keep their doors and windows closed because of the smoke plume.

The fire is on the main A1065 road through the village, which has resulted in travel disruption.
