Man hospitalised after Cromer assault

A man in his 40s remains in hospital in a stable condition following a serious assault in Cromer on Saturday night.

Police were called to Church Street at 11.46pm on 10 May after reports that a man had been assaulted during an altercation with another man.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He is now in a stable condition and recovering in hospital.

Church Street was temporarily closed while officers investigated the scene. The road was reopened by the afternoon of Sunday, 11 May.

A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH) and taken to Aylsham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He has since been released on bail until 3 August 2025 while enquiries continue.

Norfolk Police are continuing their investigation and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
