Man charged with serious collision in Norwich

A man was seriously injured after being hit by a car at Gipsy Close on Saturday.

A man has appeared at Norwich Magistrates Court in connection with a number of incidents on Saturday including a serious collision.

38-year-old Mitch Woodbine was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, dangerous driving, and failing to stop, after a black Renault Clio hit a pedestrian on Gipsy Close at around 8.40pm.

The pedestrian, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since been discharged.

Woodbine, of Eddington Way, Easton, was also charged with affray, in connection with disorder in a shop on Fiveways roundabout a short time earlier.

At court, Woodbine was remanded in custody to appear at Norwich Crown Court on the 5th of October.
