Two people have been fined after Environment Agency cameras caught vehicles linked to them at illegal waste dumping sites in Clenchwarton.

Rebecca Simper was fined £200 after admitting her van was used to dump waste at Kenfield Farm. She was also ordered to pay more than £1,800 in costs and surcharges.

Luke Webb was fined £200 after his tipper truck was filmed at Clockcase Road. He was ordered to pay £930 in costs and surcharges.

Both were prosecuted after failing to identify the drivers of their vehicles when requested by the Environment Agency.

The latest convictions bring the number of people successfully prosecuted over waste offences at the two sites to four. Last year, Philip Moore and Fred Moore were also convicted for illegal dumping at Clockcase Road.

The Environment Agency says it has been monitoring the locations since 2018 and is increasing the use of drones and surveillance technology to tackle waste crime.

A fifth defendant, Danny Thorpe, is due to face trial later this year over alleged offences linked to the same sites.
