King's Lynn speedway rider Cooper Rushen has secured the British Under-21 Championship title at Redcar.
The 16-year-old delivered an outstanding final performance, racing away to victory from gate four.
Rushen's team-mate Jody Scott finished second, contributing to a one-two victory for the King's Lynn PSH Environmental Stars.
Rushen's decisive moment came as he expertly navigated between his rivals, while Scott attempted to leverage the outer track.
Ace Pijper and Will Cairns were involved in a collision during the battle for third place, resulting in Cairns' disqualification.
In the lead-up to the final, both Rushen and Cairns achieved qualifying high scores of 12 points each.
Scott faced challenges early on but managed to accumulate 11 points, advancing from the semi-final alongside Pijper.
Reflecting on his triumph, Rushen said: "I think I’m in a dream at the minute! This event last year was kind of haunting me throughout the year, I had a terrible run at the Qualifier and never even made it through to the Final, so to get through this year was a bonus."
Rushen’s victory complements a successful weekend for King's Lynn, following Max Fricke's Manchester GP triumph on Friday.
Fans are expected to welcome the Stars warmly when they return to league action against Northampton in June.
