Police appeal for witnesses following Market Place fight

Police are appealing for information concerning a serious assault that occurred in Dereham late last month.

The incident took place in the Market Place subway leading to Quebec Street at around 10.15pm on Wednesday, 27th May 2026.

Details of the assault

Authorities received reports of a physical altercation between two individuals, resulting in one person sustaining a serious eye injury.

One individual has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and subsequently bailed. It has been confirmed that the pair involved are known to each other.

Police have conducted inquiries and reviewed CCTV footage but remain eager to hear from witnesses or anyone present in the area at the time of the incident.
